Batteries or PowerPack?

bulletWhenever we are talking about Batteries we mean standard batteries and rechargeables that are not recharged inside your HPC/PPC.
bulletWhenever we speak of PowerPacks we refer only to rechargeables that are recharged inside your HPC/PPC.

The first time

When you run PowerTime for the first time the Average operational time will be 10 hours (you can change that in Options) - so don't expect the Estimated time left to be correct until you have used your first PowerPack or set of batteries.

Make sure that you have enabled the Recharge Dialog

bulletOpen the Options Dialog (from the menu)
bulletSelect the General Tab
bulletMake sure that "Show Recharge Dialog" is checked and click OK.
bulletThe Recharge Dialog will pop up the next time you connect your HPC/PPC to external power.

With Batteries

bulletAre the batteries half-empty?
When Windows CE pops up the low power warning put in new batteries.
Then go to the New tab on the Main Dialog, select Battery Change and then Changed Main Batteries from the menu. Make sure that Add current battery time to statistics is not selected.
Then follow the steps below.
bulletDo you have fresh batteries in your HPC/PPC?
Just use your HPC/PPC as you usually do. When Windows CE pops up the low power warning follow the steps in "Using PowerTime with Batteries"

With a PowerPack

bulletIf the rechargeables are not fully charged recharge them first.
bulletThen use your HPC/PPC as you usually do. When Windows CE pops up the low power warning follow the steps in "Using PowerTime with a PowerPack"

Using PowerTime with Batteries

Changing batteries:
bulletPut in new batteries
bulletGo to the New tab on the Main Dialog, select Battery Change and then Quick Change from the menu.
(If you would like to have more control you can select Changed Main Batteries and adjust the options).
bulletPowerTime took your old battery data into the Statistics (you can check on the Statistics Tab) and adjusted the Average operational time on the Main Dialog.

Running on External Power:

bulletWhen the Recharge Dialog pops up select the third option (No action) and check "Don't display this dialog again".
bulletWhile your HPC/PPC is on external power the times on the Summary Tab will be frozen!

Using PowerTime with a PowerPack

Recharging:
bulletConnect the device to external power.
bulletWhen the Recharge Dialog pops up select one of these options:
bulletAdd to Statistics and reset battery values
(select if your rechargeables are empty)
bulletReset battery values
(select if your rechargeables are only half used)
bulletDo NOT check "Don't display this dialog again" unless you are sure that you would always select the same option and tap OK.
bulletPowerTime took your old data into the Statistics (you can check on the Statistics Tab) and adjusted the Average operational time on the Main Dialog.
bulletIf possible, wait until the PowerPack is fully charged before you disconnect.
bulletWhile your HPC/PPC is on external power the times on the Summary Tab will be frozen!

Getting the information

Current Batteries

bulletYou will see information about your current batteries/PowerPack on the Summary Tab.

Statistics

bulletThe Statistics Tab (PPC: Stat.) shows the data for your past battery sets/PowerPacks.
bulletIt is only updated when the batteries are changed or the PowerPack is recharged.
bulletIf the Operational time is shown in brackets it is below 30 minutes and will not be used to calculate the Average Operational time.
